The One Mistruth That Keeps Us From Success

The Art of Change – A Series

Episode One – The One Mistruth That Keeps Us From Success

“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”

     Buddha

Over the last 26 years, I have watched thousands of people change their lives – for the better. The observations have made it clear: All of us go through a variety of common experiences in developing the lives we are meant to have. Our participants work with a process that redefines work by moving from the common standards of survival and predictability to joy. By treating work as a relationship, it isn’t enough to identify the ideal role, it is equally important that we are succeeding in every meaningful way.

Our definition of success is to:

·      Make a great living doing what you love

·      Have the skills to thrive as the world changes around you

·      Attain happiness with your professional and personal life

Successful personal change has four distinct steps. Each one tends to be a bit more challenging than the one before. On LinkedIn, Execunet and BizCatalyst360, we will be publishing a daily article describing a step and discussing how to successfully move forward.

Let’s begin with step one. When it is time to make that commitment to change, what do we do to stay off the path entirely?

We’re asked, “What do you want to do with your life?”

We simply respond, “I don’t know.”

Humans have this shoot-from-the-hip response that stops the change process before it begins. The biggest problem about the pattern is that it can continue for a lifetime.

And, it simply isn’t true.

How do I know that? We have heard so many participants claiming,

“I don’t have a clue.”

“I will be the one person that doesn’t get it.”

These are the very people that define what they want to do with their lives on the first day.

No one has the right to tell us what to do with our lives. Many take on a superficial array of beliefs and behaviors imposed by role models that were well intentioned but didn’t realize the DNA in our souls wanted more. Regardless, it is never too late. Your truth is still in there…waiting.

When we settle for “I don’t know,” nothing changes. This non-action represents disloyalty at its most spirit damaging level.

How do we move forward?

Don’t accept the answer. Don’t use those three words.

Socrates believed that by asking the right questions we lead others to their own truth. Socrates also believed self-examination is one of the most valiant of life experiences. His words ring true thousands of years later:

“The unexamined life is not worth living.”

“Beware the barrenness of a busy life.”

As he proposed, stepping out of moderen frenzy and defining what we were born to do or what we have grown into is one of life’s most valuable adventures.

The outcome of such ventures not only represents a solution for our own lives, invariably we become a new solution for our world.

The Inspired Work Program

Saturday & Sunday, September 17 & 18

Life is precious and work, for most of us, is the biggest relationship that we have. The quality of that relationship impacts every aspect of our lives.

The Inspired Work Program leads you into a whole new relationship with your work.

Over 42,000 professionals have used The Inspired Work Program. Their results include thousands of new businesses, new jobs, exciting new careers and outlooks. The outcome is immediate and actionable.

From the founder & President of Inspired Work,

“A few years ago, I was interviewing the spiritual leader Michael Beckwith. I asked him, How do you know when someone is on the right path with their work?”

His response was immediate:

‘You can’t tell if they are playing or working.’

There isn’t anything frivolous about that point-of-view. In today’s world, not only is it beneficial to be doing what we love, it is equally important to understand how to easily change and reinvent oneself. This is what we impart to everyone that participates and that ability is key to thriving in the tidal waves of change.”

Join us at the beautiful Luxe Summit Hotel. You will be surrounded by fellow seekers, engaged, enthused and ready to move forward.

Four virtual weekly sessions begin:

Tuesday, July 19 (4-6 p.m.) or Thursday, August 4 (also 4-6 p.m.) – PST

Inspired Social Networking

Social media offers the power to build businesses, new communities and accelerate our success. But, those promises require new skills, the kind that elevate all the time we invest into networking into transformative outcomes.

Very few of us have found methods that produce targeted connections with the very leaders that can change our lives and our work – quickly.

This is what Inspired Social Networking provides.

Our program is delivered in four two-hour virtual sessions. Every participant receives personalized attention throughout the program. Hence, we limit each program to twenty participants.

Each session helps you develop comprehensive skills and produce enlightening results while we are in session.

Week One – Learn how to create an online brand that speaks to the needs and expectations of your market. By the end of the week, you have a new LinkedIn profile.

Week Two – Approach potential connections in an effective, comfortable and engaging way, they want to know you. In fact, you arrive at the third session with a variety of new connections. Segments two and three bring sophisticated consultative sales techniques in social media.

Week Three – Now that you have a variety of new connections, what do you do with them? We take you through a development process that feels spontaneous, upbeat and easy.

Week Four – We introduce you to online publishing, groups and other advanced features of social networking. Every participant receives a guide that offers so many options, you can customize your approach to building a community that feeds your business and your career.

From a recent participant:

“I came into the program as a recognized leader in the digital marketing profession. I felt that if I learned one or two things it would be valuable. The program is a surprising and unique take on using social networking to build an actively engaged community. Today, most of my new business comes by using the techniques from Inspired Social Networking.”
